Basically YouTube (or Google Videos) has made all videos encrypted within Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia) format. That means you can’t save the files directly into your computer. By the way, luckily since advance technology can beat another advance technology saving the YouTube movies are possible.
METHOD OF GETTING VIDEOS…
To save videos from YouTube you need the following softwares.
- Mozilla Firefox: If you don’t have Mozilla Firefox Browser then you need to install it now. .
- VideoDownloader Firefox Extension: By using your Mozilla Firefox Browser , point your browser to VideoDownloader website and follow the instruction to install the extension.

AFTER DOWNLOADED & SAVED
- Usually the files will have .flv extensions ending. If you came trough without .flv you have to rename the file and include .flv at the end. In order to complete, you have to open “folder options” setting and uncheck ”hide extensions”.
- You have to install flv codec. I recommend to use PlayFLV (single codec) or K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
- Another method is to use FLV Player.
